Who we are, what we stand for, and how we are governed

VARADERO AND FRIENDS FAMAGUSTA CYPRUS is directed by a voluntary Executive Council elected by the General Assembly of members in accordance with our registered constitution (katastatiko) and the Associations and Foundations Law of the Republic of Cyprus. The Council comprises a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and ordinary members, none of whom receive remuneration for their service. Council terms, elections, quorum rules, and minute-keeping obligations follow the provisions filed with the Ministry of Interior at the time of registration under number MOI ΑΜΜ4191.

Day-to-day operations are coordinated by an Administrative Committee that reports to the Executive Council. The Committee maintains the members' register, prepares the annual activity report, keeps records of every public awareness campaign and relief drive, and administers the association's bank account under dual signature. All income — membership subscriptions, voluntary donations, and proceeds of non-commercial fundraising activities — is applied exclusively to the association's stated non-profit purposes. No part of the association's funds or assets may be distributed to members as profit.

Safety Compliance Leads are appointed for each public activity. Before any ride-out, seminar, or open-air event, the assigned lead prepares a route and venue risk assessment, verifies protective equipment and first-aid provision, confirms insurance cover, and liaises with the Cyprus Police and the relevant District Administration where a permit or notification is required. Incidents and near-misses are recorded and reviewed at the following Council meeting so that our own practice reflects the safety standards we teach.

The association's accounts are presented to the Annual General Assembly for approval together with the auditors' or verifiers' report, and statutory filings are submitted to the competent authority within the deadlines prescribed by law.
