Our commitment

VARADERO AND FRIENDS FAMAGUSTA CYPRUS (MOI: ΑΜΜ4191) treats digital accessibility as part of its public-benefit duty. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA and to the accessibility principles set out in the European Accessibility Act as transposed in the Republic of Cyprus.

Measures we take

• Semantic HTML structure with a single main landmark and one heading hierarchy per page.
• A visible "Skip to main content" link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
• Full keyboard operability with clearly visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
• Text and interface colours chosen to meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
• Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative icons hidden from assistive technology.
• Form fields with programmatically associated labels and clear, text-based error messages.
• Responsive, reflowable layouts that remain usable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
• Tap targets sized for comfortable use on touch devices.
• No auto-playing media, flashing content, or motion that cannot be avoided.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: substantially all content meets the standard, and we are working to resolve any remaining exceptions. Where documents or photographs are supplied to us by third parties, accessibility may be limited until we can provide an accessible alternative.

Known limitations

• Some pages contain photograph containers awaiting authentic event imagery; captions and alternative text are added at the time each photograph is published.
• Documents provided on request (such as our constitution or annual report) may be scanned originals. We will supply an accessible or plain-text version on request.

Assessment approach

Accessibility is reviewed by our volunteers through manual keyboard and screen-reader testing, automated checks, and contrast verification whenever content or layout changes. This statement is reviewed at least annually.
